Monroe Cable is proud to announce the promotion of Jeffrey Cremeans to Florida Plant Manager. Jeff joined the company in Oct of 2019. He was hired to help Marina with Production as well as guide me in General Management. Before he started with those efforts, however, Jeff took on the project of preparing us for a physical inventory. He worked with Linda and the team to coordinate this effort which was a major undertaking. It was a rough project and had several setbacks but did the best he could considering the tools he was given and the shape of our inventory at the time. (He will get another chance at it this year )

In January this year, he took on the task of working on getting Audrey and Ron up to speed on their respective areas and prepared for our February ISO audit. This took a solid month of his time but in the end, he had implemented some significant changes and got both to the level they needed, we passed our audit with flying colors.

From there, Jeff quickly got up to speed on our production methodologies. He worked closely with Marina which allowed her to grow more into a manager from her supervisory responsibilities. At that same time, Jeff was also guiding me to allow better communication to Monroe Corporate. Then the world changed, COVID became part of our lives. Jeff helped me generate a good protocol and implement the same. He and I have been tag teaming this effort ever since.

With the departure of Audrey from procurement. Jeff stepped up to the task and took on this as a temporary assignment. Temporary turned into a bit more than that but Jeff has been a great asset in purchasing and has kept production flowing and reduced overall procurement issues in the process. He continued his efforts with both Marina and me in parallel.
With the purchase of M1, our new ERP system, Jeff has been instrumental in many aspects of the implementation and structure of this system. The entire core team has been doing a great job, but Jeff has been more involved than most of us and has taken this on with the urgency needed. Awesome job!!

What Jeff brings to the table and I appreciate the most of him are:

  1. Jeff will listen to an idea and voice his opinion for or against.
  2. He will bring data to his opinion or go gather data to support his opinion.
  3. If we decide to go a different direction than Jeff, he understands and then champions the direction at hand and drives it as it were his own from the start.
  4. He gives everything a chance to be successful until it is not
  5. He never has told me “I told you that would not work”. He will simply ask how we want to course correct. More importantly, he will have a plan on a new direction in most cases.
  6. Jeff has a sense of urgency but does not get in “panic mode”. He systematically works through issues to a resolution.
  7. He can work with multiple disciplines to resolve issues and sticks with his core principles and ethics.

These are just a list of the few things that have impressed me over the past year with Jeff. He has been pretty much involved in every aspect of this business. He also has met and exceeded all my expectations from the time he was hired. So much so that it was an easy decision to put him in the big chair to run the day to day operations of this facility. I will continue to be in the building but more focused on corporate initiatives, removing myself from day to day decisions.

Jeff will be your contact, work with him as you would have with me. As the facility needs resources, Jeff will work with me to meet your needs. Let us all take a page from Jeff’s book and step up for the challenge of this exciting new chapter at Monroe Cable.
Please join me in congratulating Jeff on a well-deserved promotion.

    Richard Samuels
    General Manager
