R-clips are commonly used to secure the ends of shafts on axles and clevis pins.

HITCH & LYNCH PINS
These hitch lynch, also called linchpins, pins help keep non-fixed components from slipping off of an axle while in motion and can be used as a fastener as well. We have self-locking hitch pins with clips for easy linkage and are used for making implements secure on three-point hitches.
